Our First Trip

Our first trip out together in the truck. Jon had a load going from Florida to Pennsylvania, coming through Savannah, so he invited me to come along for a couple of days before his scheduled home time. Me & Sparkle loaded up and headed out. We went through South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and into Pennsylvania. Then, he accepted another load going from Toledo, Ohio to South Carolina, which took extra time so we were late getting home and missed a wedding that we had been looking forward to attending. Bummer.

I left Savannah in shorts and flip flops and the next day, we encountered cold weather and I had to put on a jacket and by the end of the same day, we were driving through snow. The scenery was lovely through the mountains and the red buds and wysteria were still blooming. We saw some Amish folks in Ohio and I have decided that Ohio must have the happiest grass on earth. It was lush and green and blowing. I wanted to get out and roll in it.

We went into a truck stop along the way and left a Wendy's bag of fries in the floor, which Sparkle found. However, her discovery was poorly planned and ill fated. Being the ever sympathetic dog parent I am, I howled with laughter for 10 minutes and took pictures of her humiliation before rescuing her. It took us a while to recover from that.

The only disaster we had was when Jon rolled my fingers up in the window. Sigh. He narrowly escaped death, as I could not reach him to choke him because my fingers were caught in the window.

If we get to go again, I will continue to blog about our journeys. Hopefully, the blogging will get better with some experience.
